An Ode To Black Men

Short Film · Co-Director · Director of Photography · Editor · Voice Actor

Concept:
Ode to Black Men is a poetic short film that celebrates the beauty, strength, and emotional depth of Black men—told from the perspective of Black women. Written by my co-director Asha Breedlove, the spoken word is performed by Asha, myself, and an additional voice actor. Interwoven throughout the piece are short, impactful interviews with Black men sharing their reflections on love, identity, and navigating the world in their skin.

This 3-minute visual poem is an offering, a tribute, and the beginning of a larger body of work that aims to explore Black masculinity through tenderness, honesty, and community storytelling.
